Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 1, 2026 · Last updated: April 22, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to ClearFi ("we," "us," or "our"). ClearFi (available at getclearfi.com) is a free financial tools website that provides calculators and guides to help you understand your personal finances. We do not charge for access, require an account, or store your financial data on our servers.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit ClearFi, how we use that information, and the choices you have. By using our site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you have questions, you can reach us at privacy@getclearfi.com.
2. Information We Collect
Usage data via Google Analytics. When you visit ClearFi, Google Analytics automatically collects certain information about your visit, including:
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Referring website or search query
- Browser type and version
- Device type (desktop, tablet, mobile)
- General geographic region (country / city level)
This data is collected in aggregate and is not linked to any personally identifiable information.
No account registration, no stored financial data. ClearFi does not ask you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily contact us.
Calculator inputs stay in your browser. All calculations on ClearFi — including debt amounts, income figures, interest rates, and expense breakdowns — are performed entirely within your browser. This data is never transmitted to our servers and we have no way to access it.
Cookies. ClearFi uses cookies placed by Google Analytics (to measure site traffic) and Google AdSense (to serve and personalise advertisements). See Section 7 for more detail.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the usage data collected through Google Analytics to:
- Understand which tools and pages are most useful so we can improve the site
- Identify technical issues and fix bugs
- Measure overall site traffic and performance
We use cookies placed by Google AdSense to serve relevant advertisements that help fund the free tools on this site.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use the information we collect for any purpose other than those described in this policy.
4. Google AdSense and Advertising
ClearFi participates in the Google AdSense program to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to ClearFi and other sites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings page. You may also opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU users).
ClearFi does not control the content of advertisements displayed by Google AdSense. Opting out of personalised ads means you may still see ads, but they will not be tailored to your interests.
5. Affiliate Links
Some links on ClearFi are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you click and make a purchase or sign up for a service through those links. This does not affect the price you pay — you pay the same whether or not you use our link.
We only recommend products and services that we believe are genuinely useful to our readers. Our editorial recommendations and calculator results are never influenced by affiliate relationships.
Pages that contain affiliate links will note this at the bottom of the page with an Advertiser Disclosure.
6. Third-Party Services
ClearFi uses the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics — website analytics and traffic measurement. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense — display advertising. Governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
- Third-party financial product providers — ClearFi may link to external financial product providers (banks, credit card issuers, loan platforms). When you click these links you leave ClearFi and that provider's own privacy policy applies.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
7. Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your browser when you visit a website. ClearFi uses the following cookies:
- Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _gid, _gat) — used to distinguish unique visitors, throttle request rates, and store session data for traffic measurement. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information.
- Google AdSense cookies — used to deliver, measure, and personalise advertisements shown on ClearFi.
How to disable cookies. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Each browser handles this differently:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies
Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of ClearFi and other websites you visit. Disabling Google Analytics cookies will not prevent ads from being shown — it will only prevent personalisation of those ads.
You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits.
8. Data Retention
ClearFi does not store any personal financial data. Because all calculator inputs are processed locally in your browser, we have nothing to retain or delete.
Aggregate usage data collected through Google Analytics is retained according to Google Analytics' default settings (26 months for user-level and event-level data). You can request data deletion directly through Google.
If you contact us by email, we will retain that correspondence only as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry.
9. Children's Privacy
ClearFi is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@getclearfi.com and we will promptly delete it.
10. Your Rights
Opt out of analytics. You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Opt out of personalised ads. Visit Google's Ads Settings to manage or opt out of personalised advertising.
California Residents — CCPA Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to know — you may request disclosure of what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell.
- Right to delete — you may request deletion of personal information we have collected from you.
- Right to opt out of sale — ClearFi does not sell personal information. However, our use of Google Analytics and AdSense may constitute "sharing" under California law. You can opt out via the links above.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights.
To exercise your CCPA rights, contact us at privacy@getclearfi.com.
European Users — GDPR Rights
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data under certain circumstances.
- Right to restrict processing — request that we limit how we use your data.
- Right to data portability — request a portable copy of your data.
- Right to object — object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.
Because ClearFi does not collect or store personal financial data and does not require registration, most of these rights are fulfilled by design. For any inquiries, contact us at privacy@getclearfi.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of ClearFi after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Contact Us
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us:
